The process

From text to wire in three steps.

  1. Send the basics

VIN, miles and a few phone photos. Two minutes.

  2. Written offer

Built from recent sold comps, usually the same day.

  3. Paid by wire

Lender paid directly, balance wired, car picked up enclosed.

Seller questions

Everything sellers ask us.

How do you decide what to offer for my car?

We price off what the same model, spec and mileage actually sold for in the last 90 days at auction and retail, then adjust for condition, service history, options and color. We'll show you the comparable sales behind the number if you ask.

How quickly can I get paid?

Once you accept the offer and we've inspected the car, we pay by wire, usually the same business day the title paperwork is signed. If there's a loan, we pay the lender directly and wire you the difference.

I still owe money on the car. Can I still sell it?

Yes. Tell us your lender and the approximate payoff. We get the exact 10-day payoff, pay the lender directly, and send you any equity. If you owe more than the car is worth, we'll show you the numbers first and you can bring the difference at signing.

Can I sell a leased exotic or luxury car?

Often, yes. Some leasing companies let a dealer buy the car from the lease, and some only let you buy it out yourself. We check your lessor's rules before you commit and, when there's equity in the lease, you keep it.

Do I need to bring the car to you?

No. We inspect at your home or office anywhere from Santa Barbara to San Diego and pick the car up in an enclosed trailer at no cost. Out-of-state sellers get a shipping quote with the offer.

What paperwork do I need?

Your title (or lender details if financed), registration, a photo ID, all keys, and any service records, window sticker and accessories you have. We handle the California DMV forms.

Is your offer binding?

The written offer is firm for 7 days as long as the car matches what you described. If the inspection finds something you didn't mention, like paint work or a warning light, we'll explain any change before you decide.

Should I sell outright or consign?

Sell outright if you want speed and certainty: paid in a day or two. Consign if you want the most money and can wait about 30 to 60 days; on a $250,000 car the difference is often $15,000 or more. See our side-by-side guide.
